Globetrotting to a Warmer Weekend & Winter?

Hello bloggers,

I'll start with this picture of me and two of the famous Harlem Globetrotters.  That is the legendary Curly Neal on the left and current Trotter, Scooter Christiansen.  Scooter is the modern day Curly, the one with all the dribbling skillz.  I hung out with them this morning on NBC Action News Today.  I play against the Globetrotters tomorrow at 1pm at the Sprint Center.  I will be guest General, the team the Globetrotters handily defeat almost every night.

Come out and see us!  On to my weather musings.... Keep scrolling down until you are below the picture.

La Niña Reaches Its Peak !  When La Nina's episodes are occuring they historically reach their maximum strength in January. NOAA scientists say, "Cool wet conditions in the northwest, frigid weather on the plains, and record dry conditions in the southeast, all signs La Nina is in full swing."

Next Friday, NOAA Scientists will release their findings on this year's La Nina. I'll update thew blog with what they are saying.   Do you think LA Nina has an impact on our weather?  Or do believe it has more to do with the LRC (Lezak Recurring Cycle Theory) You can get more on the LRC by visiting the NBC ActionWeather Blog. Do you have another opinion?  Seasonal variation, Global Warming?  I'd like to know what you think.  So add a comment below.

And FYI, La Niña episodes occur when the sea surface temperatures along the equator in the Pacific Ocean dip. And while the actual event takes place just in the eastern to central portion of the ocean, La Niña events spark changes across the globe, including here in the U.S.

Have a great weekend and don't forget the Globetrotters have a show tonight at 7pm, two shows Saturday, 1pm and 7pm and a 2pm show on Sunday.

Brett

Brett--Great Job trying to "kick" the ball into the hoop this morning.  Also, I wanted to tell you that I am heading to the lake this weekend to play golf the entire weekend...still a little too much snow on the ground around here!  I can't turn down 60 degrees and sun....no way!  Fred ************** Fred, I am jealous.  Watch for some drizzle in the morning.  Highs should be around 60 at the Lake.  Brett

Thanks....I think it is a combination of La Nina, the LRC, and possibly global warming...Tha LRC is at the top of my list though...I am a strong believer in the LRC and hope you guys can find more evidence to prove of its existence..I think La Nina has an impact on our weather depending on how much the pacific temps dip..love to hear more on the LRC...thank you and keep up the good work:) ****** Thanks for the comments.  The next 45 days will be very telling for the LRC and reliability.  Brett
