Hi bloggers,
Who would want to jump into a lake that has a foot of ice on it? Ice so thick, the local fire department had to cut through it with a chain saw. On top of that, the air temperature was 17 degrees. Who was twisted enough to do this? How about several hundred people last year at Longview lake. Including me, I plunged and it was my fourth time.

This year I will plunge again. 2pm, Saturday, February 2nd, Longview lake. Plungers raise money for Special Olympics. Some wear costumes. Some jump in with just a bathing suit covering their bodies. That's where you come in. You can help me reach my fundraising goal. Here's my fundraising page. http://www.firstgiving.com/brettanthony2008 . I am trying to raise 500 dollars for these Special Olympians.
Check it out. I am plunging with my good friend Ric Crowder, from Crowder Family Dentistry. We are thinking of going as "chattering teeth"!
Now on to Kansas City Live. The show is winding down. We have two days left. Today and Friday. I had a lot of fun doing the show, but it was also a lot of hard work and a distraction from my weather duties. So while I will miss it, I am also excited to be able to focus on meteorology and the midday news program will be great for viewers. New weather data comes in between 8am and 11am, Action News Midday gives me chance to fine tune what should already be an accurate forecast. It will be awesome.
Have a great Thursday,
Brett
