Contrary to my report last Friday, it appears the fishing is still good you just have to know where to go. All area and regional lakes are reporting water temps in the low to mid 80s. From my past experience

re: Despite Heat, Fishing Still Going Strong

Here is a tip when fishing during the hottest, and brightest part of the day. If the lake, or pond doesnt have much cover in the shallows, the fish will stay deep. If you use the right equipment when fishing deep during bright, hot days, you get them to bite.

If the lake, or pond does have cover along the edge, which may include trees, moss/grass, docks, boats, tree overhangs ect...you just need to use the right lures correctly so the fish are tempted to bite, especially bass. Bass have a low tolerance to pressure changes. If the prussure lowers, they are eager to bite, but when high pressure set in, usually after a cold front, they go lock jaw, and will not bite. If this happens, it is good to use a large, heavy weighted plastic worm, and get it where this fish are, then just let it drop to the bottom, and jerk it a few times, just to trigger their instinct to bite, even if they dont want to. You can also use loud top water baits for this. I would recommend some type of buzz bait or the strike king rage tail, which is a new, soft, top water shad, with lots of action, as it swerves back and forth.

In my opinion, the best time to go fishing is when a cold front is expected to be pushing through the area late that evening, skies are partly cloudy, and there is a good chance of thunderstorms. Also if there is a new moon that night, it would be perfect.

Get out there and start fishing!!!!!!!

Alex from Marceline ***** Alex, If we don't alot of views on this week's blog. I will include many your tips on next week's blog. Thansk for contributing.
