NBC's new game show "The Singing Bee" puts the spotlight on the world of frequently misheard, misunderstood and misremembered song lyrics. It's fertile ground that was mined years ago by Gavin Edwards in his book "'Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy." The title refers to the often misunderstood lyrics of Jimi Hendrix in "Purple Haze". It's supposed to be "'Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky."
As you might imagine, there's a whole web site devoted to this area now and it lets visitors confess the lyrics they mislearned over the years. Among some of the more memorable:
