Metro Church Gets National Recognition

methodist.jpg

The Church Report.com has again named the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood on its list of the 50 Most Influential Churches in the United States. This year, it finished 15th. The list is a result of an e-mail survey of leaders of the nation's 2000 largest non-Catholic congregations.

The church got its start in 1990, holding services in a funeral home at 123rd and State Line. It has since become one of the fastest-growing churches in America. It's 13,000-member congregation is among the largest in the Methodist denomination. The church made headlines last month when it hosted the memorial service for Kelsey Smith.

Congratulations to the Church and Senior Pastor Adam Hamilton for the recognition.
