Good morning bloggers,

Huge snowflakes are now being reported.  Thundersnow was reported in Topeka.  The transition has started.  Now, the question is will it all stay snow and if it does how much will accumulate.  We will have an update soon.  Please continue providing your reports.

Jeremy Nelson will be live beginning at 7 AM during the Today show and then watch NBC Action News at 8 AM!

I posted in the former Blog-we transitioned at about 5:00 here in SW Lawrence-snowing moderately and it is sticking to everything including roads. Will be interesting to see just how long this can hang together. If that Upper Level Low would just slow down a bit-like I said before-I think it saw an ice cream truck last night-man it really took off especially comapred to how long it just meandered around the SW!!!

Bill,

In about one hour we will know.  If this lasts until noon then there is going to be a lot of snow accumulation.  Finally, one bigger than forecast perhaps?

Louisburg transitioned to all snow right at 6 a.m. The ground is now covered. Radar looked like we had a particularly heavy cell right over us when it shifted. Looks like lighter precip behind.

Thanks for the report.

Big fluffy flakes started in midtown right at 6 am.  Still snowing fairly hard but the flakes seem to be getting smaller.  Looks like a Christmas card!

If it had been just a couple of degrees colder overnght, we'd have snow up to our butts right now.

The snowflakes, at this time, in Independence are smaller, but the continuation of this for 4 to 6 hours would be a nice snowfall for once this year.

It makes it a mess for Sunday AM church services though.

Good Morning again Gary, Jeremy, Brett, and Jeff!!

Still moderate snow in SW Lawrence with an inch on the ground!! I'm afraid to look at the radar or satelte again-I just want to watch it snow and pretend it will snow like this most of the morning LOL!!!

-----------------

Bill,

I don't think you have to pretend.  What a winter we are having.

Gary

Jeremy: LOL at the snow fort-if we can get 3-4 more inches with as wet as this is-yea-the snow fort/igloo project will be in full force!!!! LOL

How long does everyone think this snow is going to keep up.  Looking at the radar it does not look like it is going anywhere fast.  It is really coming down here near 45 and 435 in Platte county.
