Good afternoon everyone! It has been a dreary day in Kansas City and kind of chilly outside. Depsite the air temperatures in the 30s and 40s in most spots, the wind chills have been about 5-10 degrees colder. It seems like Spring weather will never arrive...but hang in there.
Precipitation is now reaching the ground well north of Kansas City and mainly along and north of highway 36. Reports of snow have been coming in from Kirksville, Moberly, and Marceline(dusting reported) in Missouri. Maryville is reporting drizzle and 32 degrees. Falls City and Omaha, NE both have temps in the 30s and light rain. I expect this area of precipitation to continue moving east and best precipitation chances are along and north of highway 36, and the rest of the precipitation should remain mainly north of I-70. The precipitation should clear the area by this evening. Right now it looks like the metro will stay dry.
Here is a look at the surface map around the region as 2:23pm. Notice that most of the reports are near the Iowa and Nebraska borders. We will continue to track this and have updates for you on NBC Action News at 5, 6, & 10pm!

Have a great day and we'll update you this evening!
