A call out for rainfall amounts

Good evening bloggers,

Please blog in your rainfall totals.  You may have to get wet to check them, unless you have a digital rain gauge.  The rain keeps coming down, and the main disturbance won't pass us by until around 8 or 9 AM.  I will show some of your rainfall totals at 10 PM tonight.

Rainfall totals as of 9 PM:

Below, you can see the surface set up forecast by the NAM at 7 PM Thursday.  This would place the severe weather threat way off to our west and north.  But, there may be a pseudo warm front from tonights rain somewhere near by and this is something we will monitor on Thursday.

I will have an extensive update beginning with right off the top of the newscast at 10 PM.  Brett and Jeremy will be tracking these developments in the morning.

Gary

Andrew,

This all fits within the LRC.  If we get time later this week we will go into it.  I know it got thrown around the blog today, but I didn't have any chance to respond.

Another rainy night...The rain just started here not too long ago...Ill give you a rain total in the morning for Marceline.

One question...How come the 7-day on the website seems to not match up with the 7-day on the newscast?...The weather, pricip. chances, and temperatures seem to be all off...Just wanted to point that out.

Turn around-dont drown,

Good drippy/humid morning to the entire Weather Team!!!!

Had a few sprinkles this morning but nothing major. SW Lawrence wound up with .75 yesterday but the official reading is .50 for Lawrence. My area was kind on the far northern edge of the heaviest rainfall last night but it sure made some good noise-especially the first batch that blew up right over Lawrence at about 1:30 yesterday. All told this week we have had 1.25 at the humble abode!!!

Will be interesting to follow the next 3-5 days and just how these impulses wind up once they get east of us. Seems that the models are having a bit of trouble figuring out just how long both will sit and spin around the Great Lakes. Seems that on the 6Z GFS this morning the one today has a bit more staying power than the GFS thought yesterday and thus we get a little different look to Sunday's energy. One thing I think (think again being the big word here LOL) the models have agreed on is that the storm Sunday will close off pretty good over the Great Lakes giving us a period of fairly strong NW winds-the old closed off mid Spring/Fall Great Lakes Low deal. I think that is what the GFS is hinting at???

Well have a great day-will be interesting to watch the sky today and follow everything-while I enjoy the rain, it would for sure be good to dry out somewhat for the farmers!!!

As always thanks for reading and again, have a great day!!!!

Bill in Lawrence

Bill,

Have a great day!  We are just going into our wettest time of the year. It will be interesting to see what happens to this weakening LRC.
