Any severe weather threat on Saturday?

Good Friday Night in the Big Town!

We are analyzing the new data, and I am on the air in minutes.  I will blog about the trends in the models for Saturday, as yet another storm is heading our way.

If the storm slows down just a bit on Saturday more low level moisture will be pulled into the storm. It is something we will talk about in the morning beginning at 7 AM during the Today show.  Jeremy Nelson will have complete details at 8 AM.  The GFS hasn't come out yet, and I am just wiped out.  So, good night.  Have a great weekend.

For those of us who find the maps challenging, could you explain what you mean?  I've tried and tried to get these maps, but they just won't cooperate and soak into this brain of mine.

Good late evening to you sir!! Currently sitting at 57 degrees with some high clouds beginning to enter the horizon. We picked up 1/2 inch of rain last night-great soaker for sure!!!!

Have only had time to glance at things the past couple of days but the storm tomorrow I think is really interesting in the fact that it reminds me of an Alberta Clipper in winter. I may be totally off with this idea, but I think the energy originated in Alberta and furthermore the way it is quickly diving down, the way it will be in and out, the strong NW winds behind it, the way it is forecast to really intensify as it gets east of here and finally if this were January, places in Illinois and Indiana would prob. be seeing a decent snow event from this. I just find this interesting to have this type of system this late in the year-nothing out of the ordinary per se, but I just think the similarities to a clipper type system in early May is kind of neat in some ways. Again, I may be totally off the mark here-but has that ever stopped me before??? LOL Just a random thought on thsi coolish May evening!!! I do hope it made a little sense!!!!

Have a great night and as always thanks for reading!!!

Bill,

This entire pattern continues to amaze me.  Snow will fall over the northern plains tomorrow morning.

I admit being out of the loop for awhile, so with that said is there any signs of this cold spell exiting the region?  It isn't realy a bad thing, and I'm not wishing for 90 (which is probably what we'll get when it does warm up), but it just doesn't feel like May in Missouri.  Now having said that and growing up in Northern Michigan I can't remember it snowing in May although it probably did.  I do remember having to wear a coat to the 4th of July Parades.  So I have two questions this morning, when does it warm up and might it snow in N.MI.?  p.s.  Good to read your comments again Bill!

bulldog I think their is a reason the Team is reluctant to give us any hope of warmth and sunshine at this point.

Just pretend we're Anchorage Alaska. ****************** Hopefully in about 6-10 days there is a nice warmup. But even after that we'll likely cycle back to cool/damp weather. Jeremy
