I love the way that map looks...Hopefully maybe a little more NW so that the areas hit hardest won't get hit as hard therefore making us hit the hardest with heaviest rain because we could take it more than them. That's a great story about that kid.

True Jonathan. I would much rather see us with the mst rain then The areas hit with the most tornados and the destruction from the past 3 weeks.

Okay, everybody.  HailJonathan wins the line of the day.  "I didn't get the Weather Channel until I was eight".  LOL!! Jonathan, we didn't have color TV until I was 10.  I grew up next to Westerly, R.I. which had the first cable TV system in the nation.  We were one of the last towns to get cable in our area, getting it in 1974.  

well actually the weather channel has been around since the year I was born, 1982, I just didn't know about it until I was 8, I'm sorry if it offends you that I'm younger than you and still just about as knowlegable about the weather as you. I don't know how to read models very well but I I read current maps, satellite imagery, long range forecasts and anylize surface obs pretty good. I do pretty well with hurricanes too. . No I'm not up for any challenges but lets be real here. There are people around who love weather here born after Jesus Christ(just kidding really). Seriously though, Why is that funny really? I'm not trying to cause an uproar. just why is it funny that there are younger people on this blog. I'm 26 years old I think I'm plenty mature enough to be on here chatting about the weather. If you think  what happened the other day was immature. Well it was. But I already appologized for that and it's in the past. So Explain yourself.

     Anyway the weather finaly came back to the 80's! I am so glad there is not a storm diveleping in Missouri this weekend after the storm that moved through last weekend. Thanks for keeping HHE and LSMO safe from the survier thunderstorms that move through all the time.

Matt may be a perfectly nice guy.. It's just sometimes it feels like a slap in the face when your acknowleged for being younger than everybody else even though I'm almost as knowlegable about the subject being discussed. Know what I mean? All I'm saying is what he said probabaly didn't need to be said. And I think I handled my response in a mature way. The JC thing really was a joke just like he hammered me for being "young" I hammered him for being "old" but I was totally joking. But yes I'm aware that I'm one of the younger bloggers on here but still I can converse on here with people who are here with older people with no trouble. But guys trust me....I am "chill". I can understand what happened the other day made  you think I'm not but that was special circumstances. So please just take this as it is.

HailJonathan, thanks for your apology, but in no way did you affend me by the age.  I appreciate you being humble about it.  I used to play hockey against a bunch of younger guys when I was in my early 30s and I'd get some of the age comments.  After I knocked them to the ice a few times, the age comments stopped.

I actually enjoyed your comment about the Weather Channel. It's in no way a slap or intended to be one.  It's just interesting to put the age thing into perspective when our ages are defined by events and what we had, played, or watched while growing up.

Bee Movie? anybody see that...Seinfeld's Greatest creation...They issued a "Rain Advisory" In that movie.

Cool Matt...damn..my cat just knocked something really big off the refrigerator..okay anywho. yeah I think another problem on these types of things, Blogs chat rooms...it's hard to read emotions in words. epecially without italics and stuff. yeah I never was a sports guy... During Tee Ball I was allways trying to creat dust devils with my feet instead of watching the ball... Hockey..yeah I was too clutzy on the ice. Soccer..I huddled with the wrong team. and foot ball... well I didn't grow until I was 17

My cousins by marriage are in their 40s and we hang out with them all the time. I think once you reach a certain age in puberty..wow how did it come to this subject? age doesn't matter that much anymore...

I was sitting on there is goes again it is so loud!!!!!! Louder each time it goes by the clouds turning to a blur.

So anyway, I was sitting on my deck reading Physik and all the sudden my cat leaps up and meows at me. The a few secs later a LOUD RUMBLING AND NOW i HERE CONSTANT WISTLING AND  when it goes over my house sometimes im afrain it will shater how loud it is. wHAT I S THIS?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??! BYAN.

okay I'm going back to bed...I had a dream about weather last night. in the Dream The next part of the LRC was really messed up...like for us in KC area was gonna be in the 70s and 80s with rain but down in Texas it was gonna be in the 40s and 50s and in Oklahoma it was gonna be in the 40s-90s man it was a crazy weird dream. it was weirder than that I just can't remember it.

Jeri..revamped things on my blog last night..should be a bit more user friendly and supplemental to this fabulous blog manned by the best weather team in KC.

4 years til I'm there. Okay so in your eyes I'm still a baby...I might be But I don't intend to live a long life so I feel like 60! Basically because of the unruly Heart Disease on both sides of my family. Hopefully I'll make it to my 40s...yeah this is a great subject isn't it. anywho...anybody know if that rain map Gary posted yesterday is still consistant?

HailJonathan, in your mom's eyes you'll always be her "baby".  My mother still introduces me as her "baby".  I'm a little over 6-3.  She's five-feet  so she comes up to my arm pit.   I look at the people who are biologically adult as babies by their actions.  The people who try to "be something" by being edgy, acting cool, etc., would fit that category.  They definitely fit the bill of being "immature".  My friends and I all still like to have a good time but also know that when it affects others we've crossed the line.

If anyone has an issue about how young someone is..I'll trade with them. I would love to be younger, back to my cute, thinner self, hanging out with the Dallas Cowboys in the summers in California, knowing that AOL stands for all out lunatics and is a bad thing....yep I volunteer to be the baby of the blog :)

BTW, there were no takers on the corner computer desk so how about a used only once digital treadmill? It has no manual so I could never figure it out, so it's been sitting in the rec room folded up. I need it gone if anyone wants it really cheap.

Jeri, a treadmill?  I'll have to talk to my wife.  I'm a computer geek so I could probably figure it out.  My wife and I both want to get into shape.  Plus, with three- and four-year-olds, I definitely need to get there.  Next winter I get to get them playing ice hockey.

About 2 hours ago, the F-18 fighter jets from the New Century Air show flew right over my neighborhood for about 10 minutes. At first all you could hear was the roar of the engines passing, and then a formation flew right over my house! Our neighbor video-taped it and I will ask for a copy. It was really cool!

I was driving down 119th St. in Overland Park and started looking around in a hurry because I thought someone was in an accident with the loud noise.  Turned out to be the F-16's.  Pretty neat...after the fact:)

I had no idea there was an air show...we saw the F-18's flying over our house a few times.  It was very cool.

Jeri, how much are you looking for for the treadmill?  Also, what's your definition of heavy?  I carried my old 220-pound roommate up three flights (on the outside of the house) covered with lots of snow (we had 33 inches that day) and ice, and whenever I helped people move, I used to carry the driers by myself.

 Jeremy et all, where is this air show?  We were in our yard in Shoal Creek three years ago and the Blue Angels came screaming over our house on the way back to Pensacola. They were low enough to read "U.S. Navy" on them.

Matt, you have a PM. I went and watched some youngsters play a softball tornament over in Shawnee for a couple of hours. I finally did feel a little hot but I didn't care. I was "luvin' every minute of it." My temps here read 86 earlier, now down to 84 at 1711. Life is good.

tornadovideos.net is already saying Breaking News! Major tornado outbreak next week over the great plains. I think its a bit early to call something that is going to happen in a week! But, they know what they're talking about but it is still early.

Roberto. Dont trust those sites untill next week. If they have the dates.

I'll add more thoughts later...but the key will be the ULL and how long it sits in the SW part of the U.S.  If the ULL doesn't move east then severe weather chances may be limited to the western Plains.  Still a long way off.

                     I have a Canada fishing trip this summer and need to ask a few generic questions. We will be staying north west of Lake Nipigon. Does it look to be colder than average around June 30th? Is the region in a wet weather pattern around then? Just though you might be able to use the LRC to make a generic prediction. If you can't that's fine, just trying to get a little insight. If the weather stays to cold, there might still be a little ice on the lake.

Ice on the lake in the summer:)  When I worked in Marquette, MI there was a picture on the wall of some employees picking up chunks of ice out of Lake Superior around June 2!  Save this question until the LRC expert is in...I would wait until after the summer forecast which is Monday.  I think Gary will have more time then.

         I think I'm the youngest since I'm only 14 years old. I will be 15 on August 23.

They say on that site that the GFS and the eurp models agree and the most likely spot for tornadoes would be Kansas and Nebraska. Around the KC Metro area.

If this comes true that theres a possible major tornado outbreak next week, then I will go chasing. Only if its Thursday or Friday.  This could be a major situation but dont speculate it too much because the Models have a mind of its own. Wait till Monday night to start speculating.

I haven't visited that site...but sometimes those sites want to get people excited to sign up for non-refundable trips.  Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves and get anyone worried yet.  If storms occur later this week they could be severe...but then again about any storm this time of year can quickly produce hail and strong winds.

Well, if it has to come I would rather it happen next week. My folks leave Phoenix on the 27th and drive out to help me move. I would be beside myself thinking they would be in western KS with a tornado watch going. I would move in the rain if it meant guaranteeing their safety. They are pretty much all the family I have left besides a couple of cousins and my kids.

I was just saying that I think it is way unreasonable that they would say Major Tornado outbreak. Chances are, it'll be somewhere else, not in KC. The plains are a big place. And, since they do offer tours, I bet that is to get people to buy a trip, but there will probably be at least a little severe weather somewhere in the USA near Memorial Day. But to use the word major, or even "tornado", is not reasonable for this early out. I, too, don't want to get anybady scared because it is way too early.

The only reason I wont want it next weekend is that most schools are getting out next week which means more kids to look out for in these situations. Gary I agree that Most of these chase sites hype up alot of events to make a more reasonable profit.

It may be cheaper but I wouldn't change a thing if I could do college all over again.  I went to the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 4 years.  It was a blast!
