Good morning NBC Action Weather Bloggers,
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH until 2 PM (we will be tracking this all morning during the Today Show, and on our 11 AM Mid-Day broadcast, the blog will be updated soon)
A complex of thunderstorms (weak MCS) is tracking across southern Nebraska early this morning. This area of thunderstorms and rain is heading right towards us, but will it hold together? It was weakening, but a warm front is approaching and new thunderstorms may form this morning. Look below at the 7:10 AM radar imgage. The red cells are brand new thunderstorms within the past hour. They are moving east. If this does become a new MCS, then it would likely turn southeast right towards us. We will know if this is heading our way soon. Right now I still place it at a bit better than 50/50 that it grows and moves in later this morning.

On Saturday morning some severe t-storms were rolling across portions of South Central and SE Kansas. These storms were producing baseball and even softball size hail. You can see the measurement on the right of 4.25 inches. Look below at the picture:

Our region has avoided the worst so far this season. There are some significant severe weather possibilities this week, and we will go into more detail later this morning. Severe weather season almost always shuts down by the middle week of June, so time is running out on the energy available for tornadic threats. Flooding and hail potential continues into the summer, but the jet stream will continue its shift northward and weaken as we approach the third week of June. But, we aren't there yet.
