Thunderstorms Moving Back Into Metro

Good morning,

A quick update.  I am on the air, right now as it is 5:30am.  Take a look at a radar image from 5:30 this morning.

Thunderstorms are back in the metro.  There is some heavy rain spots.  In the last 24 hours, lots of backyards have picked up close to an inch of rain.  Send us your rainfall reports.  Got a call from Jeremy Nelson this morning who is passing through St. Joe, he reports visibility next to nothing in the fog up there.  Hopefully, you saw Skytracker last night with exclusive pictures of a tornado touching down near Linwood, Kansas.  If not, watch this morning, I am showing it at the start of each half hour.  There were 22 reports of tornadoes across the midwest last night.

Have a good morning, the rain should move out of metro KC around 10am and out of the Clinton, Warrensburg area by early afternoon.

We were woke up by thunder shaking the house at 5:45...very loud.  We got 3/4 inch overnight...that seems to always be the magic number for Liberty...at least my part.

well the 'storm' has finally gotten to Joplin. It's dark, kind of greenish, lightening, thunder, heavy wind, no rain yet but I'm sure that'll change. Yep, here's the heavy rain. We're just in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

1.34" last night from the storm, pushing our June total to 7.14"!  That is a lot of rain but I know that others are probably 10"+ by now.

Saw some rotation last night in western shawnee -- right when jeremy called in when he was at the bank building at k7 and johnson drive.  Nothing fortunately came down out of the clouds and believe it or not this storm wasn't as bad for us as a couple of the others have been this spring.

Great job last night weather team!
