Evening Update

I hope everyone enjoyed the first full day of summer!  What a great day as highs topped out in the mid 80s and dew points were generally in the 50s!  The showers and storms that developed over Nebraska and Iowa earlier today continue to weaken and diminish as they drop southeast.  As of this writing the only shower in our viewing area was near Trenton.  We can't rule out a shower or maybe even an isolated thunderstorm tonight as dew points in the 60s are trying to push back into the region.  But overall much of the area should stay dry tonight with lows in the 60s.

On Sunday, the chance of a t-storm is only about 30% and that would come late in the day or evening.  Overall it looks like this should be a great weekend with most areas staying dry and warm!

Meteorologist Jeremy Goodwin will be in on Sunday to keep you updated as I will be filling in for Brett on Monday...and then for Gary starting on Tuesday.  Have a great night!

Thank you for the update Jeremy! My wife and I took our dog for a walk this evening and it was AMAZING outside. I just wish I had more time to spend outside in this wonderful weather. Once I am less busy come mid July the weather will have turned and it will be miserable to be outside. Anything the weather team can do to make this weather stick year round? I would appreciate it if you guys could get to work on that. haha. I can dream can't I.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather everyone!

Glad you had a great day! And I think Sunday should be pretty nice too...a little more humid though.

This weekend was the perfect summer weekend! Not only was the weather beautiful, but both nights there was the smell of people firing up their grills in the air.

It was a picture perfect day and enjoyed planting shrubs and stuff around the yard in the hopes rain would move in tonight.  Maybe I missed it but when will Gary show his LRC for the next months?

Thanks for the great job weather team!!

Picture perfect day yesterday, thank you! =)  Brief shower just moved through here in Paola.  I left walking Windy around 5am with some lightning off to the north and east and some wind gusts.  Within 20 minutes the lightning had moved further south and some sprinkles were starting so we headed home.  Just got inside before a good shower started.  No more lightning or thunder, just that shower.  It's 6:15 now, clearing on the horizon to our NorthWest, hopefully that's it for the rain.  I'm ready for a great hot and humid day =))))!
