I played fantasy football last year on yahoo..but decided to take a break this year because the group I play with usually loosest interest around week 3.. bleh. I'll be at the race track tomorrow. Totally looking forward to the race! I predict Jimmie Johnson to take the race.

I play 12 leagues in FF.

I am in one NFL fantasy football league, but it is quite different than most.  There are 30 teams, each person is assigned a "team".  For me, i'm seattle.  I play the owner of whoever Seattle plays in the NFL each week.  But instead of drafting our roster at the start of the year, the best players are seperated into categories -- 3 QB's, 4 RB's, 5 WR's, 1 TE, 2 PK's and a wildcard category.  Each week we pick one player from each category and submit our "weekly roster" to the commish.  He totals up the points each week and emails out the results after the monday night game.  The top 6 teams in each conference make the playoffs (just like the NFL) and the game is played the same way in the playoffs, only difference is that the pool of players obviously shrinks.  Like I said -- different, huh?  But its fun, I have been playing it since college, for about 10 years or so.

Other than that, I pick all the NFL games and a few NCAA games at work with a bunch of guys as well as family.  I'm 32-15 in NFL games this year.

I hope you don't have any chiefs on your roster!

Jeremy, I am in two fantasy football leagues they are alot of fun,but avoid chief's players that's for sure :(. On another note the weather has been nice so far this weekend I would like a freeze to wipe out this ragweed it would be nice.

Allergies have been on the high side in regard to mold and pollen quite a bit lately.  Not much relief in sight for those that suffer from allergies.

Well this early fall is turning out to be giving us some of the summer that was missed, even this next "cold front" resembles just a complex of thunderstorms rolling down in a NW summer flow almost, just without the extreme heat and really high humidity. Even though we will be a long way off of knowing what the new pattern will be at the time, last year Gary said it seemed like the pattern started in early or mid Oct, I hope this ridge to our west is not one of the new long term ridges setting up for the next year, it is still very, very early but...

Im doin pretty good in all of them except this week will be kinda dissapointing with 6 teams on a bye. maybe next year we can get some of the blogers to join in a league :) that would fun. but on a weather related note, im ready for the cold stuff and waiting for the trees to turn beautiful in the coming weeks.

This week will be much closer to average than the 80s of this past week.  A couple of mornings in the 40s for sure.

A blogger league...not a bad idea.  I try to limit myself to 3 leagues each year.   Brett, Jeff, and Gary are also all in at least one fantasy football league.

Jeremy, the chances of rain drastically increase as the time to get ready for the bus gets closer.  If it's anything like Wednesday, it should start raining HARD at about 6:49 so you can tell everyone...;) ******************* One thing about thunderstorms around the time the bus arrives. Last week when the storms rolled through early in the morning I saw someone standing outside with an umbrella waiting for the bus. There was frequent vivid lightning and I was just shaking my head at how a parent could send a child out in something like that. In cases like that I'm sure the bus driver would wait a minute for the child to run from the house to the corner of the street. Lightning is generally in the top 3 weather related killers every year and probably the easiest of weather related deaths to avoid. Hopefully I don't see a sight like that again. Jeremy

What's with Brett Anthony's fishing blog. He has not updated it in a while. I actually read it. So with the cooler weather (at least cooler at night) does that mean that the fish are starting to bite more? I have done very little fishing this year and was thinking of going out before too long to try to catch a fish.

I've just got a fantasy league that myself and a few friends are in each year.  Last week's game was SWEET as I decimated a friend that happens to be a die-hard Bronco fan giving him his first loss.  I had Drew Brees as my QB and he LIT IT UP last week even in the Saints loss to the Broncos.  :-)

I'm in a friend's wedding next week and have to take pictures in a strapless dress outside, so please, please let it stay dry and warm for that!

Wow, the weather is so lazy that they have had to "stretch" the blog, LOL.
Sunny, warm, rather calm and hazy here in St. Joe, the only sound from out side is a cricket.  Time to look at the models I guess...

Well hope to hear some rumbles tonight or early tomorrow morning, although the NAM would keep most of it to our north  and east, but still look like a decent shot and then we get a pretty good flow out of almost due north from the jet which should allow some cooler air to flow in.

I think the front late tonight will tend to head east  of KC although we have a fair chance for precip.
I believe our first scattered frost may occur about the 16th.  We have a more widespread chance the 26th.
I don't think we'll have our first widespread hard freeze till Nov. 5.
We may have our first measurable snow between the 28 and 30th.  The 30th being more likely.

For what it is worth the NGM looks nice in terms of the t-storm event for tonight/tomorrow.

i personally believe a frost will come a week earlier than what you are saying-i would say around the 5th-10th...by the end of next weekend, there could be some places up in n mo by the IA border that could have seen one already.  we will see i suppose.

October starts Wednesday and really the next 5 days or so after that look frost free.  So the 5-10 looks early at this time...but the models out that far really struggle this time of year.  Maybe Scott has a take?

What happened to the HD station on Time Warner.   Its not even listed anymore along with Weatherplus.   I assume its a error and will be fixed soon.  

Is somebody going to address the format situation???

Oops...I missed your question.  I would have said tonite.  But mid to late morning may be dry in KC.  Looks like a quick shot of moisture and that's it.
