Friday night blog

Good Friday Night In The Big Town!

I have been busy all day and I just checked the comments on the last blog. Please, bloggers, let's keep our emotions in check.  We should try very hard to be nice to everyone, no one needs to be attacked including our weather team.  Let's keep this open to our weather topics only!

I will be blogging about the new data around 9 PM tonight.  Have a nice weekend. Get your shopping done!

People just get so stirred up during the winter! Gary, you do a great job keeping them in check! As far as the weather is concerned, I am hoping for a white Christmas! All the snow here, which wasn't much, has melted.  Is there any chance of accumulation tommorrow?

I am going to near Mason City,IA around Saturday, December 27 and will be back around the 5th of Jan. Any general thoughts like whether there will be any storms around then, or tough travel? I really need to know.

I love Mason City!  I even thought about retiring to that town....a Band guy has to love Mason City:)

I am on the side of routing for a white Christmas.  It is exciting that there is real talk of this being a possibility.  I better not get to wound up though.  I hate that "it didn't happen" feeling from the weather.

Gary what is the deal?  I thought you were a fan of winter, a real polar bear, but I thought for sure you said that 40 is the cutoff for temps on the news.

Noooooooo!  Elizabeth said "it is chilly out there".  And, I said "chilly is when it is 40, this is cold".  I love winter!!!!  And, the frigid air is great IF there is snow.

as a gas utillity person who works outside everyday and indures the missery. I have a little different take on winter. When i go to the elderly homes that are sorely inept at being insulated and they cant pay there bill and when i see coworkers risk their lives to make sure you can walk over and change your thermostat, and then respond to your concern over an odor be it skunk or animal smell or you forgot to take out your garbage even though its two in the morning and i have to get out of bed because you might actually be in danger. it has ruined any joy i used to have about the winter, but i will continue to be here day and night to do the work that has to be done

That's a long ways out still.  Betcha that changes several times before Christmas Eve actually gets here.  However, that heavier snow band is welcome to shift a little further south! :)

So will the snow tomorrow be a nuisance, or not even noticable?

There will likely be some snowflakes, but nothing significant.

Before it gets too cold out, get your pets good and worn out with outdoor activities Sat Morning/afternoon.  My dog loves to play fetch with the "chuck-it"!

That's why I'm hoping for some good snowfall with time to toss snowballs at my dog.  That's his favorite winter game!
