Radar echoes increasing at 10:30 PM

Who is staying up tonight?

Good late evening,

I will be on my way home for some brief sleep time.  Radar echoes are rapidly increasing to our west, but this storm is still in pieces.  If it all comes together someone could still see around 3 or 4 inches of snow.  But, most likely it is 1 to 2 inches later tonight ending early in the morning.

It is amazing how snow forecasting works in our part of the world. Snow is likely within hours.  And, this is associated with a blast of cold. It could drop all the way down to 12 or 15 during the morning.

I will be updating the blog overnight.  It is almost Christmas Eve!

Gary

I will probably stay up tonight and see if it starts to get its act together.  The radar returns have some promise.  I can't complain too much about a small snowfall on Christmas Eve.

Let's have some Christmas Eve snow
But not so much as to mess up those
Who've got to go go go.

Peace and glad tidings to all!

Gary- as our tradition goes with my weathervane best friend, her family just arrived for a "hunkerdown" party, where we stay up all night with warm drinks and a fire waiting for the storm.  We'll be watching and reading.  Sleep well and blessings to you and the weather crew!

Alright Gary, its 11:09PM and it started snowing here in McLouth 5 minutes ago.  As it came across the county it had a lot of sleet.  They say on the scanner that US 59 and K-4 highways are parking lots now.  So here it comes, about 45 minutes out for ya'll in the big city.

------------

Thank you so much!  Keep us updated.  Even these small storm systems can be exciting.
