Keep in mind where Gary showed the long term long wave trough during the winter forecast. Near or just west of Kansas City. If that is the case lows will drop into this trough numerous times this winter. Could be a fun winter:)

No, no,no, our first one inch of snow will not come until December 9th as that was MY prediction, LOL! ;)

We drove home to Olathe today from Table Rock Lake. The rain/snow line this afternoon was around Harrisonville. It was snowing like crazy around Belton around 2:30 this afternoon. My 14 year old son had gotten a text message this morning from a friend telling us it was snowing back home so at least we had a heads-up!

I can't wait to see the snow from inside my house...the snow flakes that fell on the 15th weren't fun since we were sitting outside as they were falling. I've got my Christmas lights up & the music on so some snowflakes would match nicely.

trace amounts in some areas and maybe a half inch in others. Likely wet roads...but can't rule out an icy spot or two.

I just went and took a picture of my snow measurment, and I havnt sent it to you yet because it is still getting scanned, but my current snowfall measurment for Marceline, MO is 3/4 inch.

I will send the pic as soon as it is done being scanned.

I am really liking the long term forecast. It looks like we may finally get a decent winter. Last year was disappointing to say the least for those of us south of the metro. I am in Lee's Summit and it seemed to always be North of us.

The SnowMizer will bring us a foot of snow this year.......I can feel it.

The comma head has formed and the snow will continue through 5 AM or so. I am expecting close to one inch and we are monitoring the potential ending to the snowflake contest overnight, but it may still fall short of one inch.

The radar echoes are actually increasing as we approach midnight.

Looks like its building up again around LNK again. Might get 1/2" more after this band passes through.

Even though we are only expecting 1-2in with this, it still is exciting. We are ahead of last year and with the way the pattern is setting up we could have a very active winter!

Since the weather team put in their predictions, I am going to throw my own in the mix. For the North sections of the metro, I am going to call for 30"+ and the biggest storm total of 10". That is just my perdiction though. LOL

Bummer..an all nighter to measure a possible measly one inch. Driving home from TSO, downtown as wet and 34 degrees. The burbs were closer to freezing with snow falling. Nothing on pavement, some traces in the grass, and about a quarter inch on some decklids of cars in Lenexa.

In LS, some snow sticking in grass depending on the yard orientation. You know this trough axis just was very stubborn to stay west of progs. This is encouraging. Still watching the GFS for Wednesday. I want to see if more energy gets backloaded into the SW. Even the 0Z run is far more SW than just a night before. I might call it good, but think just a bit more energy may seep out SW.

If that is the case, it will be interesting to see what happens at the surface on Wed.

snowing pretty good right now in leavenworth at 3am a nice coating of snow covering the ground maybe 1/2 inch to 3/4 it looks like nothing sticking to the streets though.

On the American Centruy Sky view camera it looks like theres a lot more snow there than here.
(By the way I measured the snow 10 times in 10 diff places)
