looks like some new storms developing in NE Kansas along the Nebraska border. What are the chances of these making it here overnight? they've really popped up since 10:00

Whats the temp supposed to be at sunrise? It's 72 now and web sites say anywhere from 75 to 80.

I was watching So You Think You Can Dance (Dance, Dance) tonight then started listening to the new Eminem CD. My television remained on the channel without audio and I saw that said channel has the northern part of the metro in a moderate risk of severe storms tomorrow. Given the SPC doesn't have that, I'm going to assume it's just a personal opinion. Thoughts?

Okay... You guys are going to think I am nuts, but somehow, I am getting a station on my TV tonight from Lincoln, NE!

Up in North Nebraska, they have this nasty storm, yet awesome at the same time. Supposedly it has a funnel, 80mph winds, and grapefruit sized hail.

Amazing! Just thought I'd point that out. It won't make it here by all means

Amos, Wow! that is nasty up there - and you're right....it'll probably fizzle out by the time it gets here. By the way, that's cool the weather team has some help with interns - cool. Down here in the Gardner-Edgerton area, we must of a gust front come through around 730-745 last evening before the rain came through - I would say maybe 40 - 45 mph gusts, and that was about it after about 15 minutes of the winds. Got plenty of the rain, lightning and thunder....soooo good for the grass - and right when I got done with the yard, it rained. That's ok with me!

Aussie83 - I just watched the clip you posted - wow. What do you think? I think the guy had some good old fashioned techniques. In the days of testing atomic bombs in New Mexico, there was a famous weather man who did the same predictions on when and how to test the bombs in certain conditions.......this man on the clip reminded me of him, but i cannot recall the gentleman's name. We ought to ask Gary when he gets back!

I saw that when I scanned the channels. I noticed one channel I had never seen before, and then they showed this NASTY tornadic storm. What a coincidence! LOL

I always get bunches of weird stations during the summer late at night. Pretty fun to decide which to watch!

Amos - did you pick it up via television? I looked on the NOAA site - I usually type in a city or zip code, then zoom in on radar......either way, you are right! That storm is nasty. I will have to look at the NOAA storm reports of Nebraska tomorrow. Sorry if I got you psyched up if you thought I saw the same tv station as you...I was on the NOAA website after I read your initial post. That's pretty cool you can get a station that far from here! Cool!

Where do you live? I noticed today that the St. Joe station started showing up, but I'm not sure how a Lincoln station could possibly reach down here.

Hi weather guys,

My guage recorded .47" from last nights storm. So in the past 48 hours my station shows 1.45" of rain.

Now the yard needs mowing and I really don't want to do this!

just over 2 inches last night at 435 and Shawnee Msn Parkway in Shawnee; most of that came in 45 minutes. Rain came down in sheets, and big wind, but we didn't lose any tree limbs.
